“I am fascinated in the language of art, how to transmit its atmosphere and how to reach a successful consistency of images and objects. The media I work with consist out of Video work, Installations and Sculpture. These three forms appeal to me in their endless opportunities and challenge me to experiment and try out all shapes and sizes. Often I explore the concept of ego, human behavior, the unwritten rules created by human kind, morals, standards to accepted behavior or the things we ought to know.

I am very excited to be able take part to the Codex festival 2016. I think it is a chance to break trough the culture walls in Italy but also for all of us. The way they will perceive our works and what we can learn from them while we are working in Sicily. It is extremely intriguing to be able to work in such a historical place and also try to make your work collaborate with that kind of environment. I am continuing my previous work The Bystander; with my last exposition I did not reach the full potential I could have reached with experimenting more. For that I am very exited to continue with this work in a completely new setting and to take it out of its context.

Codex Festival Staff: “The human condition in its transience is, from our point of view, the most interesting part of Thamar works. The interest in what live or survive beyond the ego and the ongoing conflict with the same one, it is
a theme that has always in Sicily found a dimension of expression. An Island where each system loses its meaning, where human nature finds herself and getting lost in a metaphor.

tryout22_movThamar works have all elements of Codex Festival. To arrive so deep she use a miscellany between the techniques and the use of it at the same time. One of the point of our festival is we are living in an age of contamination. Contamination means communications. A communication that still does not surface in Europe, contamination that without intellect passes from these places, from this old island as it passes between the works of Thamar.”
