The location of the Festival is a special one, it lies in Noto, south east Sicily, Italy. Within the center lies the Collegio dei Gesuiti or Ex convitto Ragusa, is a spectacular monastery. The monastery was that of St. Charles Borromeo, also designed with a beautiful terrace where the silence takes over from the city. The building holds many expositions from more un-known artist to known artists.
The location has a royal entrance trough a chapel which leads to the courtyard, the exposition rooms are accessible trough the main chapel and the courtyard. The artists will use this big exposition room.
The home of Codex Festival and the court- yard of the Seminary are the headquarters of the Festival events. Theater, movie pro- jections and fine arts have their base here, while the performance many times invade the city center trough the gates, which will make the general squire of Noto a base of the Codex festival.
A unique setting, where artists perform as well as have the ability to interact
within the spaces, giving rise to original works that transcend baroque architecturecreate a spectacle of new and old that only a frame like that of Noto can support.

Il collegio dei gesuiti è una delle opere architettoniche che ne fa parte.
Collocato in pieno centro tra la Cattedrale di Noto e Il teatro è una struttura che attualmente la cittadina ha destinato al Ginnasio e parte ad eventi culturali e artistici.
La sua facciata è la più bella ma anche la più ampia di tutta la Provincia di Siracusa per quanto riguarda quelle di Conventi e Monasteri, costeggia tutto l’isolato da Via Arnaldo da Brescia a Piazza XVI Maggio. La chiesa del convento era quella di San Carlo Borromeo, visitabile anch’essa con una splendida terrazza dal quale si può godere dello scenario dello spettacolare centro netino.
Questa è stata ed è la sede di Codex Festival, il cortile del Seminario è il quartier generale degli eventi del Festival, Teatro, Musica, Proiezioni hanno qui la loro base, mentre le performance molte volte “invadono” il centro cittadino.
Una cornice unica, dove gli artisti oltre che esibirsi hanno la possibilità di interagire all’interno degli spazi dando origine ad opere originali che trascendendo l’architettura barocca creano uno spettacolo tra nuovo ed antico che soltanto una cornice come quella di Noto può supportare.
